Carfraemill has been serving afternoon teas since at least the 1930s, and probably as far back as the 1800s too. We still serve it in the traditional way, with fine bone china and all of the savoury and sweet elements you'd expect including finger sandwiches, homemade scones with homemade jam, and a range of amazing home bakes and meringues.

Here you can enjoy a traditional Hungarian cake.Walking down the Váci Street, the main pedestrian area or shopping street, we visit a traditional pastry shop where you can taste the famous Hungarian chimney cake.After the sweets comes some salty: we’ll introduce you to some great pairs of Hungarian paprika sausage accompanied with pickles. Nearby in the Central Market Hall we’ll have the chance to try some of the Hungarian salami, traditional cheesy scones, and strudels.After the Market, the tour ends in a wine bar, where you can enjoy a nice glass of Hungarian wine.

Join your host Marjorie at her small but charming kitchen to learn to cook a traditional Irish meal from recipes out of her own cookbooks, many of which have passed down through generations in her family. Marjorie loves to bake so most of your meal will be straight out of the oven. Enjoy a hands-on Irish cooking class that will last about an hour and a half. Roll up your sleeves and learn to make 2-3 traditional dishes from scratch with fresh ingredients, some that may have even been procured from your Marjorie’s garden. Your baking class will include learning to bake homemade scones, Irish soda bread or a traditional fish pie. Learn from an expert about the tips and techniques involved in home style Irish cooking before you sit down at the table to share the meal you helped prepare with Marjorie.
